Dr. Raj Kamal, Senior Professor, CS, EC & IT, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, MP, India
Raj Kamal (b. 1949) did his M.Sc. at the age of 17, published his first research paper in a UK journal at the age of 18, and his first program, written in FORTRAN that ran at ICT 1904, also at the age of 18 and completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, at 22. He has unique distinction of being Professor in four disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Physics.
He has 45 years of experience in research and teaching since the age of 18. He has also been to Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden a world class university for post doctoral studies. He has thus far successfully guided 12 research students and is guiding six Ph.D. students in Mobile Computing and Embedded Systems. He has published 115 research papers in journals and conferences of both international and national repute.
He is author of thirteen text books (refer www.rajkamal.org) for students of Computer, Electronics, Communication and Information Technology, which includes books on Embedded Systems and Internet and Web technologies published from McGraw-Hill India, McGraw-Hill China, McGraw-Hill South Korea, McGraw-Hill Singapore, McGraw-Hill U.S.A. Computer Architecture Schaum Series, Mobile Computing Oxford Univ. Press and Microcontroller- Pearson Education.
He is presently Senior Professor in Schools of Computer Sciences, Electronics and Information technology, Devi Ahilya University, Indore since 23 years. He has been also been faculty for several years with Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, (17 years) Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputtur, Tamilnadu (2 years) and Guru Nanak Engineering college, Ibrahimpattam, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (1 year). He is also ex- Vice Chancellor, Devi Ahilya University, Indore.
Dr. Venkataram Pallapa, Professor, ECE, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
Venkataram Pallapa received his Ph.D. Degree in Information Sciences from the University of Sheffield, England, in 1986. He is currently the chairman for center for continuing education, and also a Professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Dr. Pallapa's research interests are in the areas of Wireless Ubiquitous Networks, Communication Protocols, Computation Intelligence applications in Communication Networks and Multimedia Systems.
Dr. Pallapa is the holder of a Distinguished Visitor Diploma from the Orrego University, Trujillo, PERU. He has published over 150 papers in International/national Journals/conferences. Written three books: Mobile and wireless application security, Tata McGraw-Hill, Communication Protocol Engineering, Prentice-Hall of India (PHI), New Delhi, 2004 (Co-author: Sunil Manvi), and Multimedia: Concepts & Communication, Darling Kinderley (India) Pvt. Ltd., licensees of Pearson Education in South Asia, 2006. Edited two books: Wireless Communications for Next Millennium, McGraw-Hill, 1998, and Mobile Wireless Networks & Integrated Services, John Wiley & Sons(Asia) Pvt. Ltd., 2006(Co-editors: L. M. Patnaik & Sajal K. Das). Dr Pallapa had written chapters for two different books and a guest editor to the IISc Journal for a special issue on Multimedia Wireless Networks. He has received best paper awards at GLOBECOM'93 and INM'95 and also CDIL (Communication Devices India Ltd) for a paper published in IETE Journal. He is a Fellow of IEE (England), Fellow of IETE (India) and a senior member of IEEE Computer Society.
Dr. Ruay-Shiung Chang, Professor, CS & IE, National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan.
Ruay-Shiung Chang received his B.S.E.E. degree from National Taiwan University in 1980 and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from National Tsing Hua University in 1988. After graduation, he had worked for Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Dong Hwa University. He is now the President of Taiwan Hospitality and Tourism College. His research interests include Internet, wireless networks, and cloud computing. He is an editor for Emerging Technologies on Telecommunications, International Journal of Internet Protocol Technology, Journal of Internet Technology, Journal of Convergence Information Technology, Positioning (from Scientific Research), Journal of Engineering, and Journal of Wireless Engineering and Technology. He also serves in the international advisory board for International Journal of Handheld Computing Research (IJHCR) and International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering.
Dr. Chang is a member of ACM, a senior member of IEEE, and a founding member of Taiwan Institute of Information and Computing Machinery and the president of Taiwan Association of Cloud Computing. Dr. Chang also served on the advisory council for the Public Interest Registry (www.pir.org) from 2004/5 to 2007/4. In 2009, Dr. Chang received the Outstanding Information Technology Elite Award from the ROC Information Month Committee.
Dr. M. Salim Beg, Professor, ECE,Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India
Prof. (Dr.) M. Salim Beg obtained his B.Sc. Engg. (Hons) from AMU in 1982. He got his Master of Engineering in Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 1984. He was awarded prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship for doing research at Loughborough University, England from where he obtained his Ph.D. in the area of Digital Communications over Mobile Channels in 1991. He has more than 150 research publications in journals and conferences of repute. This includes 9 papers in IEEE Transactions (USA). In addition to that he has published in Journal of Network Systems and Management (Kluwer, USA), International Journal of Communications Systems (United Kingdom), IEICE Transactions (Japan), International Journal of Computers & Applications (Canada), International Journal of Electronics, Communication & Computer engineering (France), and Mediterranean Journal of Electronics and Communications (United Kingdom).
A lot of his recent research has been related to multimedia data transmission over mobile links & wireless networks. He has delivered a large number of short courses and pre-conference tutorials in several countries includingMalaysia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia for industries as well as academics. He has been on the technical program committee of several international conferences. He has chaired a number of sessions at several international conferences. He has delivered invited lectures at several places including Indian Telephone Industries at Bangalore, Telecommunications Consultants India Limited, C-DAC, and DRDO.
From 1997 to 2002 he was an Associate Professor at Faculty of Engineering, MultimediaUniversity, Cyberjaya, Malaysiaand also the Chairman of the Center for Multimedia Communications at this university. He is now a Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, AMU, Aligarh. He has worked on collaborative projects with industries such as Motorola, Lucent and Alcatel. He has also been the coordinator of several sponsored R&D projects funded by AICTE, MHRD, UGC etc. He has been the Deputy Coordinator and then the Coordinator of the UGC sponsored Special Assistance Programme on ‘Signal Processing Applications in Networked Multimedia” during 2004-2009. He is the Coordinator of the “Centre for Wireless Networks” being set up at AMU as part of its upgradation process funded by MHRD. Since October, 2012, he is also the Chairman of Department of Electronics Engineering at AMU.
He has been the Head of the Department that provides telecommunication services in the university for nine years and has been responsible for major network expansion during this period. He was the Joint Secretary of IEEE U.P. section (January 2006 – January 2008). He was a member of the Technical Committee on Telecommunications of IASTED (International Association for Science and Technology Development), Canada for 2004-07. He was the Convener (Conference Chair) of International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing, and Communication Technologies (IMPACT-2009) held at AMU, 14-16 March 2009 which was technically co-sponsored by IEEE U.P. section as well as by IEEE Circuits and Systems society, USA.
Dr. Magda El Zark, Professor, CS, University of California, USA
Magda El Zarki received the B.E.E. from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt in 1979 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York City, NY in 1981 and 1987 respectively with a two year break from 1981 -1983 when she worked as a network planner in the international telecommunications department at Citibank, N.N., NYC, NY.Dr. Rama Shankar Yadav, Professor, CSE, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India
Prof. Rama Shankar Yadav has received the B. Tech. degree from Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow, MS from BITS, Pilani, and Ph. D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India in 1990, 1993 and 2004 respectively. He is currently working with the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad as Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering and having twenty one years teaching & research experience. He has worked at various administrative positions in department. His primary research interests are in reliable time critical applications and computer network security. He is reviewer of various journals and conferences. He has published more than 68 papers in the journals and conferences. Professor Yadav has been a professional member of Institution of Engineers, India. He had supervised 57 M. Tech. students and 03 Ph. D. students. Currently he is supervising 06 Ph. D. and 07 M. Tech. students. Prof. Rama Shankar Yadav have organized various FDP, Training Programme, Workshops and Conferences.
Dr. M. Sufyan Beg Professor, CSE, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi
Prof. M. M. Sufyan Beg obtained his B.Tech. (Electronics) degree from the Aligarh Muslim University, India in 1992 with first rank. He obtained his M.Tech. (Microelectronics) degree from IIT Kanpur, India in 1994. Thereafter, he joined the Department of Electronics Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University, India as a member of the faculty. He has been a Lecturer, a Senior Lecturer and then a Reader in the Department of Computer Engineering at the same University. While on study leave from there, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in the area of Computer Technology from IIT Delhi, India in 2002. He also visited the University of California at Berkeley as a BT Fellow from November 2005 to October 2006. Currently, he is a full Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering at JMI, New Delhi since 2007.
Prof. Beg has published 10 book chapters and 75 papers on a wide range of topics in Web Mining and Soft Computing. He has also been an invited lecturer at many places in U.S.A., U.K., K.S.A., Pakistan and India. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and its Computational Intelligence Society. He is also the Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (IETE), Computer Society of India (CSI) and System Society of India (SSI).
Prof. Beg was awarded the University Gold Medal for standing First at B.Sc. (Engg.) Examinations (all branches combined). He has also bagged twice the Best Paper and the High Quality Presentation Awards.
Prof. Beg has served as reviewer and has been on the board of many journals and conferences of repute. His current research interests are in the areas of Parallel and Distributed Processing, Soft Computing, Question Answering Systems, Natural Language Processing, Web Mining and Searching.
Dr. Pascal LORENZ, Professor, University of Haute Alsace, Colmar, France
Pascal Lorenz received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. Between 1990 and 1995 he was a research engineer at WorldFIP Europe and at Alcatel-Alsthom. He is a professor at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. His research interests include QoS, wireless networks and high-speed networks .He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences.
He was Technical Editor of the IEEE Communications Magazine Editorial Board (2000-2006), Chair of Vertical Issues in Communication Systems Technical Committee Cluster (2008-2009), Chair of the Communications Systems Integration and Modeling Technical Committee (2003-2009) and Chair of the Communications Software Technical Committee (2008-2010). He has served as Co-Program Chair of IEEE WCNC'2012 and ICC'2004, tutorial chair of VTC'2013 Spring and WCNC'2010, track chair of PIMRC'2012, symposium Co-Chair at Globecom 2011-2007 and ICC 2010-2008. He has served as Co-Guest Editor for special issues of IEEE Communications Magazine, Networks Magazine, Wireless Communications Magazine, Telecommunications Systems and LNCS.
He is senior member of the IEEE, IARIA fellow and member of many international program committees. He has organized many conferences, chaired several technical sessions and gave tutorials at major international renowned conferences.
Dr. D.K. Lobiyal, School of Computer and Systems Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
Dr. D. K. Lobiyal Received his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Lucknow University, India. He received Master of Technology and PhD both in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Presently, he is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer and Systems Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
His areas of research interest are Wireless ad Hoc Networks, Video on Demand, Natural language Processing and Bioinformatics. Dr Lobiyal is author of more than 35 research papers in journals and has published 40 in conferences. He has edited two conference proceedings and one book chapter. He has supervised 08 Ph.D., 30 M.Tech. and 40 MCA students.He has worked on two projects. He has been organizer of various conferences and workshops.

Dr. Anura P. Jayasumana, Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, USA
Anura Jayasumana is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University, where he also holds a joint appointment in Computer Science. He is a member of NSF Engineering Research Center for Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere. He is the director of the Computer Networking Research Laboratory at CSU, where his current research projects span collaborative P2P systems, high-speed radar networks, wireless sensor networking, and network measurements. His research expertise also includes optical networks, protocols for high-speed networks, performance modeling, and testing of VLSI. He received B.Sc. degree with First Class Honorsfrom the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. Prof. Jayasumanahas supervised 20 Ph.D. and 50+ M.S. students, holds two patents, and is the co-author of a book and over 225 papers. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Mountain States Council of American Electronics Association. He has served extensively as a consultant to industry ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies and also as an expert witness.He is a member of Phi-Kappa-Phi, Eta-Kappa-Nu, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Dr. Subhas Mukhopadhyay, Professor, School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand
Subhas holds a B.E.E. (gold medallist), M.E.E., Ph.D. (India) and Doctor of Engineering (Japan). He has over 22 years of teaching, industrial and research experience. Currently he is working as a Professor of Sensing Technology, Massey University, New Zealand. His fields of interest include Smart Sensors and sensing technology, instrumentation techniques, wireless sensors and network, numerical field calculation, electromagnetics etc. He has published over 270 papers in different international journals and conference proceedings, written two books and twenty book chapters and edited ten conference proceedings. He has edited eleven books with Springer-Verlag and ten journal special issues. He has organized many international conferences as either General Chairs/co-chairs or Technical Programme Chair. He has delivered 175 presentations including keynote, invited, tutorial and special lectures. He is a Fellow of IEEE (USA), a Fellow of IET (UK), a Topical Editor of IEEE Sensors journal, an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurements, and a Technical Editor of IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics. He is the Chair of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society New Zealand chapter. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Sensors Council.
Dr. Lakshmi Narasimhan, Professor, Department of Computer Science at East Carolina University, USA.
Prof. Lakshmi Narasimhan obtained his Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Electronics Engineering from the University of Madras and Indian Institute of Science respectively. He also obtained his Master’s and PhD degrees respectively from the Madras Institute of Technology (now part of Anna University) and The University of Queensland, Australia. He worked at his alma mater in Australia as a lecturer and senior lecturer and was also the Director of the PA3SE (Parallel Algorithms, Architectures And Software Engineering) Research Laboratory. In 1995 he moved to the Australian Defence and Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) as a Principal Research Scientist and was leading the program on Information Management and Information Fusion. He has been instrumental in initiating several key computer information systems projects with strategic clients within the Australian Defense Force, which have since led to the deployment of several mission critical systems at various customer sites. Later he moved to the USA, where worked as a full professor at the Computer Science Department, University of North Texas at Denton. Since early 2003, he was the Professor and Chair of Software Engineering at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Presently he is a Professor of Software Engineering in the Department of Computer Science at East Carolina University, USA.
Prof. Narasimhan has published over 270 papers in the areas of Software Engineering, Information security and Information Engineering. In particular, his research interests are in computer architecture, parallel and distributed computing, software testing, text & audio processing and mining, E-Commerce, Software process, asset management systems and Standards, and information management & fusion. His papers have appeared in such archival journals as the various IEEE Transactions and IEE Proceedings. Prof. Narasimhan was the founding chair of the IEEE Computer Society, Queensland Chapter and initiated the International Conference series ICA3PP (IEEE International Conference on Algorithms And Architectures) and acted as its Inaugurating Chair. He has also been the technical chair of two other conferences and has been on the technical panel of over 40 leading International Conferences. He has won $8 million in research funding from various funding bodies, institutions and industries. Currently his research interests are the areas of data and information security, large-scale system engineering, testing & visualization, Agent technology for Decision Support System design and distributed object computing. He has consulted to a number of industries and educational institutions on various IT and Software Engineering projects, including Boeing Aerospace, DoD in Australia and the USA and Assetricity Inc. He is also associated with two Co-Operative Research Centres (CRC on Construction Innovation and CRC on Integrated Engineering Asset Management). He was also the Director of the MESTEC Research Centre at the University of Newcastle, which specializes in the applications of mobile technology to medical information management and patient care. Prof. Narasimhan is a Senior Member of the IEEE, ACM, Fellow of ACS, IEAust and IEE (UK). He is a Technical Member (representing USA) of the Expert Panel of ISO (International Standards Organization) and MIMOSA (Machinery Information Management Open Standards Organization, USA). He is an ACM Distinguished Speaker.
Dr. Shang-Kuo Yang, National Chin Yi University of Technology, Taiwan
Shang-Kuo Yang was born in Taiwan. He received the B.S. in 1982 and the M.S. in 1985 in Automatic Control Engineering from Feng Chia University, Taiwan. From 1985 to 1991, he was an assistant researcher and instrumentation system engineer of the Flight Test Group, Aeronautic Research Laboratory, Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Since 1991, he has been with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Chin Yi University of Technology, Taiwan. He received the Ph.D. in 1999 in Mechanical Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He has been a full professor since 2004. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and he is also a visiting professor and Ph.D. student advisor
of East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai. His biographical profile is embodied in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World. His administration experiences in the University are: 2001/08 ~ 2003/12 Director of the business incubator; 2003/08 ~ 2004/07 Director of the library; 2004/08 ~ 2006/01 Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; and 2006/02 ~ 2007/01 Dean of student affairs. After 2007, he has been visiting many universities in China such that he is a Visiting Professor of Southwest University for Nationalities, Sichuan and an Instructor of Business Incubation of Chendu University, Sichuan. His research interests are in reliability, data acquisition, and automatic control.
Dr. Bharat Bhargava, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Purdue University, USA
Bharat Bhargava is a professor of the Department of Computer Science with a courtesy appointment in the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Purdue University. Professor Bhargava is conducting research in security and privacy issues in distributed systems. This involves host authentication and key management, secure routing and dealing with malicious hosts, adaptability to attacks, and experimental studies. Related research is in formalizing evidence, trust, and fraud. Applications in e-commerce and transportation security are being tested in a prototype system. Based on his research in reliability, he is studying vulnerabilities in systems to assess threats to large organizations. He has developed techniques to avoid threats that can lead to operational failures. The research has direct impact on nuclear waste transport, bio-security, disaster management, and homeland security. These ideas and scientific principles are being applied to the building of peer-to- peer systems, cellular assisted mobile ad hoc networks, and to the monitoring of QoS-enabled network domains. His current research deals with privacy and security in Cloud computing, identity management and end-end security. He is a recipient of five best paper awards in major conferences.
Professor Bhargava is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. In 1999, he received the IEEE Technical Achievement Award for major impact of his decade long contributions to foundations of adaptability in communication and distributed systems. He has been awarded the charter Gold Core Member distinction by the IEEE Computer Society for his distinguished service. He received Outstanding Instructor Awards from the Purdue chapter of the ACM in 1996 and 1998. He has graduated the largest number of Ph.D students in CS department and is active in supporting/mentoring minority students. In 2003, he was inducted in the Purdue's Book of Great Teachers.
He serves on ten editorial boards of international journals and is editor-in-chief of three journals. He also serves the IEEE Computer Society on Technical Achievement award and Fellow committees. He is the founder of the IEEE Symposium on Reliable and Distributed Systems, IEEE conference on Digital Library, and the ACM Conference on Information and Knowledge Management.
